2005 chevrolet tahoe review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. It can haul more cargo than a chevy trailblazer or ford explorer yet it's easier to manuever than a chevy suburban, important in crowded parking lots, underground garages, or when parallel parking, plus it'll fit in more garages. tahoe can carry five passengers and their gear at the same time. Pulling a trailer is no problem when equipped with the optional 5. 3-liter v8. on the road, tahoe is smooth and stable. It really is like a rock. It has plenty of power and its brakes work well. The cabin is comfortable and familiar, friendly and functional. Turn off the highway and the tahoe handles gravel, rugged two-tracks, mud, and snow. In any kind of driving, it's a good choice for someone who needs real carrying capacity. audio systems with touch-screen navigation are now available. Xm satellite radio delivers music, radio, sports, and other programming coast to coast. A rear-seat dvd entertainment system with wireless headphones keeps the kids busy. safety features include hydroboost brakes, which maintain power assist even if the engine stalls or is turned off. A tire-pressure monitor comes standard and has been improved for 2005. Stabilitrak electronic stability control and traction control are available as options. Dual frontal air bags are standard; front side-impact air bags are optional. Latch child safety-seat anchors are provided. improvements for 2005 include a quieter, higher-capacity electric cooling fan; a higher-capacity alternator; and aerodynamic enhancements that promise slightly improved fuel economy on some models. It is essentially a shortened version of the chevy suburban and shares much in common with it. the tahoe is the same width as the suburban, but it is more than 22 inches shorter than the suburban and nearly 9 inches shorter than the ford expedition. The tahoe is also nearly 11 inches shorter than the stretched, midsize chevy trailblazer ext (and only about 5 inches longer than the standard trailblazer). But the tahoe is more than 4 inches wider than the trailblazer ext, an important benefit. tahoe comes with big outside mirrors that afford an excellent view rearward. The mirrors on lt and z71 models feature puddle lamps that light up the perimeter. Press a button and they fold in for parking in narrow places. Heating elements keep off frost and ice. The left mirror automatically dims to reduce headlamp glare. The hatch is made of aluminum for light weight. The hatch features a flip-up window, and being able to open just the glass is often more convenient when loading groceries or outdoor gear, especially since it can be operated with the keyless remote. The front seats are big, wide, and fully adjustable in the lt. Optional seat heaters are easy to turn on and adjust. Switchgear is nicely designed and easy to operate. The map lights can be aimed. Rubber-lined cubbies on the center console offer places to organize odds and ends. The ashtray can be removed to reveal another nice cubby for sunglasses and stuff. Cup holders are well designed. Three power outlets in front and one in back deliver electricity for accessories. visibility is very good through big windows, but we'd like the option of an electronic park-assist feature to help maneuver this big rig in tight quarters. We appreciated the available power-adjustable pedals. Pressing a button moves the brake and accelerator pedals for an optimum driving position. This allows a shorter driver to move farther from the steering wheel (where the airbag is located). The tilt steering could use finer adjustments, but by adjusting the height and tilt of the seat it's possible for drivers of all sizes to find a comfortable position. Steering wheel-mounted controls add convenience and enable the driver to personalize functions. we love the lt's electronically controlled, automatic three-zone hvac system for its sophistication and ease of use. Change the driver's temperature, for example, and a panel displays the new temperature for a few moments, then display's the passenger's temperature, then displays the driver's temperature again. It's easy to operate the controls with the big knobs and a clear led display that's easy to understand. Separate electronic controls for the rear seating area improve comfort for second- and third-row passengers and pets. the standard ls setup is a manually controlled hvac system with three zones that allows temperature differentials of 30 degrees between driver and passenger. It works quite well. The third zone allows manual control of the rear air conditioning. Second-row bucket seats 490), an option on the lt, are less versatile than a bench seat, but more comfortable, more luxurious. We prefer the buckets. A pair of map lights flanks each dome light in the second and third row, a great feature when traveling or accessing gear. the tahoe provides slightly more cargo space behind the second row than the ford expedition does (63. 6 cubic feet vs. 60. 9 cubic feet). Folding the second-row seats down provides enormous cargo capacity, 104. 6 cubic feet of cargo space, a bit less than the expedition's 110. 5 cubic feet. Also very important, the 2007 silverado features an all-new interior that can be outfitted for work or pleasure. the new silverado is designed to continue its reputation among owners as the 'strongest, most dependable and longest lasting truck on the road.' the new styling is bold yet still conservative when compared with the latest pickups from dodge, nissan, toyota and ford. While the sheet metal is all new, the main reason the new silverado looks bolder is that it's three inches wider in front and an inch wider in the rear than the outgoing generation. (the older-generation trucks will continue to be sold as the 2007 silverado classic. Naturally, not all engines extended cab and crew cab models have back seats and windows in the side doors that power down. The extended cab has rear access doors that are hinged at the rear but that open to 170 degrees to provide full access to the rear seating area. the standard cab can be outfitted with a standard (6-foot, 6-inch) or long (8-foot) beds. This is the previous-generation version and should not be confused with the vehicle covered in this report. walkaroundthe 2007 chevy silverado may not have the aggressive styling of the dodge ram or nissan titan or even the toyota tundra or ford f-150, but its upright design may be considered both bold and appealing to its faithful customers, and they buy hundreds of thousands of silverados each year. the new design gives the 2007 chevy silverado a taller and stronger appearance than the previous generation. Indeed, the new silverado should look stronger because it's some three inches wider in front and an inch wider in the rear. however, a more raked windshield (raked at 57 degrees) and careful aerodynamic and body-building engineering make the truck both quieter on the inside and more fuel efficient. Gm boasts that the silverado and gmc sierra are the first full-size trucks to offer both 300 horsepower and 20 miles per gallon on the highway. the large, gold chevy bowtie badge is set against a wide, three-bar chrome grille. The grille is flanked by stacked headlamps sporting the latest reflector-optics. The front bumper incorporates rectangular fog lamps. the hood has a wide power dome. Bulging front fenders wrap over the front wheels and incorporate the headlamps within their forward sweep. Likewise, the rear quarter panels are punctuated by large faired wheel wells. the rear view of the truck features stacked tail lamps on either side of a tall tailgate that has a sculpted center section that mimics and inverts the shape of the fender flares. built on what general motors calls its gmt900 platform, the silverado shares much of its underpinnings with the tahoe suv, though the pickup truck gets a unique rear frame section that is 245 percent stiffer. Overall, compared to the former gmt800 truck, the frame is 234 percent stiffer torsionally, 62 percent more resistant to bending and 136 percent stiffer laterally. All of this allows such things as reducing the gap between the truck bed and passenger compartment and between fenders and bumpers. It also enhances aerodynamics and fuel efficiency and allows suspension components to provide improved ride and handling characteristics. the front suspension has switched from torsion bars to coil-over shock absorbers and the rack-and-pinion steering gear is mounted to the engine cross member frame to provide enhanced control and feedback. This interior also features larger switchgear controls and interior door handles designed to be easily manipulated even while wearing bulky work gloves. the more luxury-oriented interior includes bucket seats with a permanent center console with 20 liters of storage capacity. The center stack also puts ventilation and audio controls within easy site and reach of the front seat passenger. This version has a single glove box in the dash. extended cabs feature stadium-style seating with an elevated view for those sitting in the second row. Both the extended cab and crew cab versions offer plenty of rear legroom. The rear seat bottoms can be easily be folded up to provide more room on the floor for cargo. Rear seats are split 60/40 so one side can be folded up for cargo while the other is used for seating. chevy says the interior of the new sierra is 20 percent quieter than its predecessor, thanks to enhanced insulation materials, much like those used in the company's sport utility vehicles, and to aerodynamic improvements that reduce wind noise. driving impressionwe've driven two versions of the all-new 2007 chevy silverado on paved and gravel roads in the desert west and north of phoenix. Later we got into the more upscale version of the lt with an extended cab and standard bed, same v8 engine and same z85 suspension. This is chevrolet's attempt to offer the kind of equipment, power, value and price that competes directly against the honda civic, toyota corolla, and ford focus. chevrolet says the cobalt is the quietest, stiffest, strongest, most refined small car it has ever built, and after a test drive, we give them high marks on almost all counts. Cobalt features an expressive design and a dynamic driving experience. The base car comes with disc/drum brakes, and the others come with disc/disc brakes with abs. The sport package 595) includes a brushed metal trim package for the dashboard, white-faced gauges, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, rear spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels with pirelli tires. safety features include dual-stage front air bags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, rear center shoulder belts, and the latch child seat retention system. All but base models come with abs. Other safety features cost extra. Head curtain side air bags 395) designed to provide head protection are optional. And the opel astra in europe. But with its single-bar grille and bowtie emblem, it looks like a proper chevrolet small car right down to its shoes and socks. there are huge plastic bumper fascias on both ends of the car and the body panel fits are extremely tight. So tight, in fact, that there are no rubber trim gaskets around the compound complex headlamps. the coupe bears a stronger resemblance in its shape to the cavalier than the sedan, which has a new and more modern roofline sweep. The base, ls and lt coupe and sedan models have no spoiler as standard (it's optional), and the ss coupe version carries a huge, tall rear spoiler than certainly makes a design and intent statement. cobalt is heavier, longer, wider and lower than most of its direct competitors, its engine is the most powerful base engine in the class, and its interior dimensions and trunk capacity are close to the competition in every respect. After 10 years and 6 million cavaliers, chevrolet has learned a few lessons, and that's apparent in the size, shape and equipment of the cobalt. interiorinside the cobalt, the design theme is simple and straightforward, but far from the el cheapo appointments of the old cavalier. There's just enough chrome trim here and there on knobs and instruments to brighten things up without a lot of glare from the shiny parts. Instruments are large, well placed, and easy to read, with nice graphic treatment throughout. cobalt is unique in the subcompact class in that three completely different seats are offered in base, ls and lt, and ss versions, each with detail changes in foam, padding and trim. There was plenty of fore/aft and rake adjustment for a 6-foot, 4-inch driver, plus seat height adjustment with a ratcheting handle. It raises and stays in position by itself.) the trunk is wide and deep with a low liftover height, and almost 14 cubic feet of capacity, more than competitive in the class. In addition, there's a 60/40-split, fold-down rear seat with a trunk pass-through feature. driving impressionwe found the cobalt quite pleasant to drive, and almost eerily quiet for a car that costs well under $20,000. Chevrolet has put what feels like hundreds of dollars worth of special door seals, sandwich steel panels, thick carpets and pads, noise blockers and noise absorbers throughout the front, middle and rear of the car, and normal front-seat conversation is possible at speeds over 90 mph. the cobalt lt is not the address of driving excitement, however. We think it's a handsome, well-equipped car. 2011 chevrolet traverse review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Great for hauling people and cargo. introductionthe chevrolet traverse is a large crossover suv that seats seven or eight. Built more like a car than a truck, the traverse is surprisingly nimble, with handling more like that of a family sedan than a big suv. we found the steering direct and responsive, if light, and the brakes easy to modulate for nice smooth stops. The ride is comfortable and much more stable than that of truck-based suvs, which tend to lean in corners and bound over undulations. Though no lightweight, the traverse is significantly lighter than a chevrolet tahoe, allowing the traverse to deliver superior fuel economy and handling. traverse comes with a 3. 6-liter v6 that moves it ably from a stop and provides decent passing punch. The v6 makes 281 horsepower, or 288 with the available dual exhaust system, and it comes with a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available for improved stability in wintry conditions. fuel economy numbers are better than those of most truck-type suvs, but they're less than for the average family car. Fuel economy is an epa-estimated 16/23 mpg city/highway with all-wheel drive or 17/24 mpg with front-wheel drive. The second- and third-row seats fold flat to open up a generous cargo area. Even with all the seats up, there is enough room behind the third row for a week's worth of groceries, and an available power liftgate makes it easy to access those groceries. cloth or leather, the front seats are comfortable and supportive. Room in the first and second rows is plentiful, and the third row is bigger than most and is even useful for adults. The dashboard is attractive, but there's more obvious plastic inside than we'd like at this price point. The controls are easy to reach and operate. Benefiting from a strong unit-body structure similar in concept to that of a car, these big crossover suvs make truck-based suvs obsolete in terms of simply moving people and cargo. More stylish than minivans and far more fuel and space efficient than truck-based suvs, crossovers like the traverse are excellent family vehicles. the traverse is large, though, so it can be bulky in parking lot and parallel parking maneuvers. Plus, it gets better mileage and is more space efficient. in short, we think the chevrolet traverse is an excellent family vehicle. for 2011, changes are minimal. Aside from some new colors, the optional usb port has been relocated to the storage bin in the upper instrument panel. It connects portable music devices to the vehicle’s audio system and charges batteries of some hand-held items. Heated cloth seats are offered on the 2011 traverse lt. lineupthe 2011 chevrolet traverse is offered in ls, lt, and ltz trim levels, each with front-wheel drive (fwd) or all-wheel drive (awd). Ls and lt models have a 281-horsepower 3. 6-liter v6 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Traverse 1lt fwd 31,865) and 1lt awd 33,865) models add an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, heated power mirrors with turn signals, a trip computer, rear park assist, and p255/65r18 tires on alloy wheels. Other options include a cargo convenience package 130) with a rear cargo cover and cargo net; trailering package 525) with a heavy-duty engine cooler and a trailer hitch; two-panel sunroof 1,400) with a fixed rear panel; a dvd rear entertainment system 2,430) that includes the bose sound system, rear audio controls, and a 115-volt outlet; a dual-screen rear dvd entertainment system 2,010); chrome side steps 635). safety features include dual front airbags, torso-protecting front side airbags, head-protecting side-curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, tire-pressure monitor, traction control and electronic stability control with rollover mitigation. Rear park assist and a rearview camera are optional. walkaroundchevrolet traverse shares its architecture with the buick enclave and gmc acadia. It's built using unit-body construction similar to that of a car rather than bolting the body to a heavy truck frame. Also, it's a front-wheel-drive platform. Traverse is longer but narrower than the chevrolet tahoe full-size suv. though large, the traverse has a soft, sleek, modern appearance. up front, the traverse features an attractive version of chevrolet's split grille. The headlights start next to the grille and wrap around the front fenders. Horizontal fog lights mirror the headlights about six inches lower. A black air dam below the grille gives the front end a dark lower face. A peak at the center of the hood continues down through the grille and fascia, adding a touch of character. from the side, the traverse appears to have short overhangs for an suv. The window line rises to the rear and that angle increases at the rear windows. A character line is located about a third of the way up each door, and the black front fascia is picked up along the sides by black plastic over the rocker panels. Large wheels and tires keep everything in proportion. Up top, the traverse has optional black roof rails and an available two-panel sunroof with a fixed rear panel and an opening front panel. at the rear, the traverse features dark tailgate glass that dips down toward the center. The tailgate lifts up and does not have a separate opening glass. The center peak from the front is repeated here, as is the black lower fascia treatment. The total design is well thought out, smooth and stylish. interiorinside, the chevy traverse makes great use of its best-in-class space. It's both a superb people hauler and a terrific cargo hauler. the front seats are comfortable and supportive, whether trimmed in cloth or leather, with lots of head room and leg room. the second-row bench seat fits three adults easily and there is plenty of head and leg room. With the second-row captain's chairs, there is a handy walkthrough to the third row. Three children can ride comfortably in the third row, and there is also enough head and leg room for two adults to fit back there. Adults won't be comfortable during long trips, though, because of the low height of the seat cushions. cargo space is aplenty. Traverse has more cargo space behind the third-row seat (24. 4 cubic feet) than any midsize suv. Underneath the floor is a handy, though shallow storage bin. With the second and third rows folded down, cargo volume is an impressive 116. 4 cubic feet, near the top of the class and almost eight cubic feet more than what's available in the full-size tahoe. Those two rear rows fold easily, each with the flick of a lever, creating a nearly flat load floor. A strap on each section of the split third-row bench makes it easy to pull the seatbacks upright from the tailgate area. An available power rear liftgate also eases access to the cargo area. getting in and out is easy because the traverse sits lower than traditional truck-based suvs. Still, the driver is perched higher than in a car and therefore has a clear view of the road ahead. Visibility to the front is generally good, but the traverse is bigger than it feels, so it can be tough to see over the driver's right shoulder and objects immediately behind might be hidden from view. With this in mind, it makes sense to get the rearview camera. Not only does it add an element of safety, helping avoid the tragic mistake of backing over a child, it also proves to be highly useful in everyday parking situations, making maneuvering in tight quarters easier and quicker. up front, the driver is surrounded by an attractively designed dashboard that has nice graining but uses more.

The 3. 5-liter v6 that comes standard on the impala lt and ls models generates 211 horsepower and 216 pound-feet of torque and gets an epa-estimated 18/29 miles per gallon city/highway. The impala ltz comes with a larger 3. 9-liter v6 rated at 230 hp and 235 lb-ft of torque and 17/27 mpg. for 2011, both the 3. 5-liter v6 and the 3. 9-liter v6 are flexfuel-capable, meaning they can run on e85 ethanol. Fuel economy drops precipitously with e85, however, tumbling 7 miles per gallon in both cases to 14/22 mpg for the 3. 5-liter and 13/20 mpg for the 3. 9-liter. on the road, the impala is very stable, a nice cruiser. It's an attractive car. Last redesigned for the 2006 model year, it is aging, however. the big headlamps have a jeweled appearance with three independent lighting units and are smoothly integrated into the front end. Flat-blade windshield wipers provide consistent pressure on the glass, which helps eliminate streaking and wind noise. Build quality is good, with tight gaps of 3. 5mm or less between body panels. aside from minor badging, the only exterior differentiations among the trim levels are the wheels and the standard rear spoiler on the ltz. interiorinside is a roomy cabin. The seats have fairly firm cushions and decent lumbar support compared to previous models. A twin-brow instrument panel wraps around into the doors. We found the instrument panel pleasing to the eye, colorful, entertaining and easy to use, with a nice all-of-a-piece unity and style to it. Interior materials are a grade above average. the dual-zone climate control system is a snap to use, with large, round control knobs and good markings. It can support up to a 12-degree temperature difference side-to-side. The optional remote engine start system comes with a 200-foot operating range and automatic climate pre-conditioning to warm or cool the interior. The glovebox is large enough to actually hold stuff. the base audio system comes with six speakers, am/fm/cd/mp3 capability, and xm satellite radio. It features speed-sensing volume control and a two-line, 32-character display and the capability to select freely between am, fm and xm. Setting these presets is as easy as holding the button down. A big round knob in the center allows quick volume adjustments. Too many radios nowadays are too complex or have tiny buttons difficult to operate underway. Not so with gm's radios. The impala sound system is sophisticated yet easy to operate. The optional system adds an in-dash six-cd changer. The premium audio system is bose. Turn-by-turn navigation directs the driver through the route by using the digital readout lines in the radio head. Directions are downloaded by the onstar advisor to the vehicle and can be played back or paused anywhere from start to destination. Besides being easy to use (all directions are downloaded to the car by an advisor) turn-by-turn is less expensive than a gps navigation system. the back seat is roomy and comfortable for two adults or three kids, but not three adults. The forward-flipping rear seat cushions reveal a storage tub underneath that can contain spills or transport a variety of items. The tub also serves as a covered storage area beneath the seat with cushions down, and exposes convenient grocery bag hooks when the cushions are flipped forward. They feature variable valve timing, which changes the orientation of the camshaft, automatically adjusting the timing of the intake and exhaust valves for better performance, economy, and emissions. the 3. 5-liter e85-compatible v6 that's standard on the ls and lt has variable valve timing and generates 207 horsepower and 215 pound-feet of torque. It gets an epa-rated 18/29 mpg city/highway on gasoline and 14/22 city/highway on e85 ethanol. the 3. 9-liter e85-compatible v6 has variable valve timing and produces 230 horsepower and 238 pound-feet of torque. The rear suspension uses a multi-link setup with gas-charged struts, coil springs, and a stabilizer bar. Ls and lt models come with the softer fe1 suspension, while the ltz has the performance-tuned fe3 setup and more responsive handling.

The all-new next-generation pickups are here. introductionthe all-new chevy silverado is here. Completely redesigned, the new silverado is built on a stiffer chassis. Also very important, the 2007 silverado features an all-new interior that can be outfitted for work or pleasure. the new silverado is designed to continue its reputation among owners as the 'strongest, most dependable and longest lasting truck on the road.' the new styling is bold yet still conservative when compared with the latest pickups from dodge, nissan, toyota and ford. While the sheet metal is all new, the main reason the new silverado looks bolder is that it's three inches wider in front and an inch wider in the rear than the outgoing generation. (the older-generation trucks will continue to be sold as the 2007 silverado classic. Naturally, not all engines extended cab and crew cab models have back seats and windows in the side doors that power down. The extended cab has rear access doors that are hinged at the rear but that open to 170 degrees to provide full access to the rear seating area. the standard cab can be outfitted with a standard (6-foot, 6-inch) or long (8-foot) beds. Options include driver and front-seat side-impact air bags, side-curtain airbags, stabilitrak electronic stability control with rollover mitigation technology, autotrack active transfer case, ultrasonic rear parking assist, onstar. option prices vary by trim level and body style. Among them: a cargo management rail system for the truck bed 175), a power sliding sunroof 795), 20-inch wheels 1,295), a power sliding rear window 200), rear-seat entertainment system 1,955), navigation system 2,250), rear-locking differential 395), stabilitrak electronic stability control 425). Accessories such as step rails and chrome exterior trim are available from chevy truck dealers. note that until production of the all-new 2007 model ramps up, dealers will continue to sell the former version as the 2007 chevrolet silverado classic. This is the previous-generation version and should not be confused with the vehicle covered in this report. walkaroundthe 2007 chevy silverado may not have the aggressive styling of the dodge ram or nissan titan or even the toyota tundra or ford f-150, but its upright design may be considered both bold and appealing to its faithful customers, and they buy hundreds of thousands of silverados each year. the new design gives the 2007 chevy silverado a taller and stronger appearance than the previous generation. Indeed, the new silverado should look stronger because it's some three inches wider in front and an inch wider in the rear. however, a more raked windshield (raked at 57 degrees) and careful aerodynamic and body-building engineering make the truck both quieter on the inside and more fuel efficient. Gm boasts that the silverado and gmc sierra are the first full-size trucks to offer both 300 horsepower and 20 miles per gallon on the highway. the large, gold chevy bowtie badge is set against a wide, three-bar chrome grille. The grille is flanked by stacked headlamps sporting the latest reflector-optics. The front bumper incorporates rectangular fog lamps. the hood has a wide power dome. Bulging front fenders wrap over the front wheels and incorporate the headlamps within their forward sweep. Likewise, the rear quarter panels are punctuated by large faired wheel wells. the rear view of the truck features stacked tail lamps on either side of a tall tailgate that has a sculpted center section that mimics and inverts the shape of the fender flares. built on what general motors calls its gmt900 platform, the silverado shares much of its underpinnings with the tahoe suv, though the pickup truck gets a unique rear frame section that is 245 percent stiffer. Overall, compared to the former gmt800 truck, the frame is 234 percent stiffer torsionally, 62 percent more resistant to bending and 136 percent stiffer laterally. All of this allows such things as reducing the gap between the truck bed and passenger compartment and between fenders and bumpers. It also enhances aerodynamics and fuel efficiency and allows suspension components to provide improved ride and handling characteristics. the front suspension has switched from torsion bars to coil-over shock absorbers and the rack-and-pinion steering gear is mounted to the engine cross member frame to provide enhanced control and feedback. The truck also has a new rear axle design with shocks absorbers mounted outboard and more upright for better dynamic control. interiorthe silverado wt and lt come with what chevy calls the pure pickup truck interior while the ltz features a more luxurious interior. the pure pickup interior is more driver oriented, includes two glove boxes in the dashboard, one of them just about the right size to hold a pair of work gloves and a few small items, and a 40/20/40-split front bench seat with the center section of the seat back folding down to form a wide arm rest with lots of storage capacity. This interior also features larger switchgear controls and interior door handles designed to be easily manipulated even while wearing bulky work gloves. the more luxury-oriented interior includes bucket seats with a permanent center console with 20 liters of storage capacity. The center stack also puts ventilation and audio controls within easy site and reach of the front seat passenger. This version has a single glove box in the dash. extended cabs feature stadium-style seating with an elevated view for those sitting in the second row. Both the extended cab and crew cab versions offer plenty of rear legroom. The rear seat bottoms can be easily be folded up to provide more room on the floor for cargo. Rear seats are split 60/40 so one side can be folded up for cargo while the other is used for seating. chevy says the interior of the new sierra is 20 percent quieter than its predecessor, thanks to enhanced insulation materials, much like those used in the company's sport utility vehicles, and to aerodynamic improvements that reduce wind noise. driving impressionwe've driven two versions of the all-new 2007 chevy silverado on paved and gravel roads in the desert west and north of phoenix. Later we got into the more upscale version of the lt with an extended cab and standard bed, same v8 engine and same z85 suspension.
